How FTTH is Achieved?

图片1

Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) is a broadband network architecture that uses optical fibre to deliver high-speed Internet and other communications services directly to homes. This involves an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) at the central office, which drives an Optical Distribution Network (ODN) that routes signals to multiple homes using passive optical splitters along the way.

So how fibre-to-the-home is installed?

Ⅰ. Pre-burieded main cables

Firstly, the construction team needs to dig a trench near the community to splice the feeder cable to the backbone fibre-optic cable.

Ⅱ. Drop cable access to the cell

Pull  feeder cable out of the ground or tube via a lead-through to access your plot or yard outside your house.

Ⅲ. Splitting in splitter boxes in the cell

Put the feeder cable into the splitter box in the cell and be split via PLC for multiple home use.

Ⅳ. Fibre optic cable to subscriber access point

Put the distribution cable into the storage box at your doorstep.

Ⅴ. Fibre optic cable to the home

Pulling the drop cable into the house through a through-wall connector or a traction cord

Ⅵ. Indoor cabling

Run the white or transparent cable from the living room all the way to the bedroom along the door frames, etc. in your house.

Ⅶ. Networking

Final step, extending your network to rooms such as the study and bedroom, via a router.Congrats on finishing your FTTH build!
